T he Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) at the University of Houston (UH) seeks candidate at the assistant or associate professor level with exceptional skills for inspiring teaching and cutting-edge interdisciplinary research for a tenured or tenure-track faculty position. Candidate must hold a PhD and/or MD degree in the area appropriate to the applicant’s specialized field, a strong record/potential for independent extramural funding, and a solid publication record in high-quality peer-reviewed journals. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Healthcare innovations provide a rare opportunity to enhance healthcare delivery, to improve access to healthcare, to prevent and manage chronic diseases, and to make personalized medicine more precise. The BME Department enjoys stimulating research and clinical collaborations with the Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine, the Texas Medical Centers and hospitals located just a few miles from UH’s main campus. As such, the potential candidate is expected to focus on healthcare innovations and translational health related research projects. The successful candidate will be expected to be part of the Institute for Health Care Innovation – An Aspire Initiative.
