We are currently seeking talented, motivated and ambitious individuals to interview for the position of Food Zoo Supervisor for Campus Dining . This position will work in the Food Zoo during the academic year and possibly at other operations during the break periods between semesters . The Food Zoo is a fast paced, high volume dining hall located in the Lommasson Building.

Required Skills

The entry level Food Zoo Supervisor must have knowledge, skills, and abilities demonstrating:

  1. Professional supervisory experience in a foodservice environment.
  2. Experience in the front-of-the-house working with guests and employees in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  3. Experience with effectively training employees new to the workforce.
  4. ServSafe certification or the ability to obtain certification within four months of employment.
  • Experience in addressing personnel issues and dealing effectively with conflict.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a professional environment


  • Minimum Required Experience
    • High School diploma and three (3) years related experience. One of those years must be in a high volume, restaurant or catering operation. Leadership and supervisory experience and training is required.


    Preferred Experience
    • Working in a University food service environment
    • ServSafe certified
    • Working knowledge of inventory, food and labor expenses, budgets, report analysis, and revenue generation in collegiate foodservice

    Position Title: Food Zoo Supervisor (Culinary Services Supervisor II)

    Position Number: 188300

    Department: Campus Dining

    Work Schedule: Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), 12 months/year. Position requires an alternative work schedule.

    Salary: 17.05/hrCurrent employee’s rate of pay for this position will be determined by the staff compensation plan and will minimally be this posted salary. For questions and details regarding the staff compensation plan, email the Compensation Department .

    Union Affiliation: Montana Federation of Public Employees (MFPE)

    Probationary Period: Six months minimum
