Assistant Provost for Global Engagement

The University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa (UH Mānoa) seeks an innovative, motivated and experienced leader to serve as Assistant Provost for Global Engagement (APGE). This position reports to the Provost with hybrid responsibilities for facilitating and coordinating systemwide internationalization efforts and UH Mānoa strategic global engagement efforts in international, national and local affairs. With UH Mānoa as a globally-recognized research institution with a wide variety of international partnerships, programs and activities, this position is responsible for leading the campus Office of Global Engagement and advancing programs and initiatives that increase the global connectedness and stature of both UH Mānoa and UH system, and collaborating across organizational, national and cultural boundaries. Specific areas include the coordination of immigration services for employees and students, provision of experiential learning opportunities at national and international levels, and assisting with the development and review of international collaborations in teaching, research and student and employee exchanges.  For more information about the Office of Global Engagement, please go to https://manoa.hawaii.edu/global.

The APGE also serves as advisor to the President, or President’s international designee, and the Provost on related matters and is also a member of the Provost’s Council and other systemwide international committees with authority to establish policies and procedures necessary to recommend and implement system wide policies and procedures, assist other UH campuses in the development of international programs, comply with federal and state laws, regulations and reporting requirements, and implement sound practices for both the system and campus levels.
