General Information
Chapman University seeks applications for a Part-Time Lecturer of Partnership Tax for the Spring 2023 semester. Successful candidates will teach one 3-unit section of Partnership Tax.

Qualifications
JD degree from an ABA accredited law school and a successful background in tax law.
Responsibilities
Teach one section of Partnership Tax. The course concerns the federal income tax laws regarding partnerships (including limited partnerships and LLCs, among others) principally found in Subchapter K of the Internal Revenue Code. The course covers the formation of a partnership; the operation of the partnership and the allocation among its members of its income, deductions, etc.; the transfer by the partnership of its property to its members; the disposition by partners of interests in the partnership; and the consequences of a partnership’s termination. There will be some emphasis on potential pitfalls for the taxpayer (and the taxpayer’s advisor) in the law of partnership taxation as well as some debate on the merits and demerits of other provisions of Subchapter K.
