Overview:

The undergraduate nursing program at Salem State University is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure-track, nine-month contract faculty position in maternal health nursing to begin in the Fall 2023. The School of Nursing seeks faculty members who are dedicated to educational excellence, thrive in a student-centered nursing program, and have a strong interest in preparing a nursing workforce ready to meet the many challenges of today’s health care environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Candidates are required to perform duties in accordance with the MSCA contract. Duties include teaching, advising, scholarship and contributions to continuously improve the department and university.

Faculty are expected to contribute to policy and curriculum development in the School of Nursing, and collaborate on all components of the systematic evaluation plan.

Required Qualifications:

A master of science in nursing (MSN); a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience; evidence of expertise in maternal health nursing. Candidates must possess or be eligible for Massachusetts RN licens

Preferred Qualifications:

An earned doctoral degree in nursing or a related discipline; evidence of beginning program of research; experience in the development of undergraduate nursing curriculum, knowledge in instructional technologies, program development and evaluation; and experience in and enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring in a multi-racial, multi-ethnic environment with students from diverse backgrounds. Previous teaching experience at the college/university level is strongly preferred.
