Duties and Responsibilities
- Plans, implements, and evaluates services of the assessment function.
- Participates in the development of and implementation of an institution-wide assessment plan.
- Monitors implementation of the University’s assessment plan activities.
- Assists with programs and departments with the development of assessment measures and procedures.
- Assists with program evaluation and reviews.
- Plan and coordinate assessment activities, e.g., workshops, meetings, training, and presentations.
- Design and conduct research studies that support assessment activities of the University.
- Conduct student outcomes assessment surveys.
- Collects and analyses outcomes data and evaluation results and constructs reports and recommendations.
- Prepare reports and survey responses for internal and external constituents.
- Develop recommendations on policies, procedures, actions, and strategies derived from the results of studies and assessment activities.
- Implements recommendations on policies and procedures that facilitate assessment and effectiveness activities.
- Conducts data collection surveys, instruments, and inventories.
- Participates in planning and assessment sessions.
- Serves on standing and ad hoc committees as assigned.
- Performs other tasks and projects as assigned by Director.
- Produce a data calendar for the unit that explains when and what kind of data needs to be collected.
- Provides monitoring and evaluation services of assigned Title III activities.
- Responsible for providing technical assistance for assigned Title III activities.
- Liaison between Activity directors and Title III Director.
Minimum Qualifications
These are the job duties for required of the position
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or an appropriate area of specialization required. A Master’s degree preferred.
Experience
A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a higher education setting or similar public service environment, grant or account management, assessment, evaluation methodology, and institutional effectiveness required.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Excellent analytical abilities. Excellent interpersonal, organization, written, and oral communication skills. Experience in conducting workshops, seminars, and training activities. Demonstrated ability to handle various projects simultaneously and independently. Demonstrated ability to provide analysis of complex tasks and to organize and coordinate the work of others to accomplish objectives. Demonstrated ability to handle complex program analysis and assessment tasks and work collaboratively with various departments in the University. Familiar with universal assessment data collection definition, classification, and methodology. Ability to access large-scale administrative data systems to extract data for analysis. Knowledge of sampling, survey design, and analysis. Ability to deliver assessment reports in various oral, written, and technological presentations. Ability to complete projects on deadlines. Excellent supervisory, organizational, communication, presentation, and training skills. Demonstrated success in creative problem-solving. Ability to analyze complex budget data and produce summary reports. Demonstrated proficiency in computer software applications for the office environment (ex., Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, SPSS ). Ability to interface with various internal and external stakeholders, including senior administrators and staff, faculty, students, and funding agency program officers.
Conditions of Employment
This position is Title III grant-funded. Employment is subject to available funding.
