COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
  • Salary Range: $12,882 to $15,656 per month (22/23 Salary Schedule); maximum initial placement at $14,200 per month (placement within this range is based on assessment of previous experience as documented in application materials). An additional travel allowance of $175 will be added to the base salary for this position. An additional 2% compensation will be added to the base salary for an earned doctorate degree.
  • Fringe benefits: The District offers a competitive health & benefits package for employees and eligible dependents.
  • Leave/Holiday time: Management employees earn 1 day of sick leave and 1.8333 days of vacation for each month worked. They are also entitled to holidays recognized by the District (14 holidays/year).

  • SCOPE OF POSITION:
    Under the supervision of the Vice President, Academic Affairs, and with the direction of the Executive Dean, Petaluma Campus, plan, organize, and direct assigned credit and non-credit instructional support operations, activities, departments and programs at the Petaluma Campus and off-campus sites in the Southern Sonoma County; coordinate and direct communications, staff, resources, schedules, educational planning activities, program development functions, courses, curriculum and other information to meet District and student needs and enhance the educational effectiveness of assigned instructional and student support areas; serve as instructional administrator for the campus and associated off-campus locations; supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned faculty and classified staff.

    PETALUMA CAMPUS DESCRIPTION:
    The SRJC Petaluma Campus currently enrolls approximately 6,500 students over the year in credit and non-credit courses. Each semester, approximately 350 course sections in nearly 60 disciplines are offered, including many majors and certificates as well as courses necessary for transfer to UC, CSU, or to complete SRJC's local AA/AS degrees. SRJC has been offering courses in the Petaluma area for over 50 years; in 1995, permanent facilities on the current 40- acre site were completed. In 2008, SRJC tripled the square footage of the campus with an extensive expansion and remodel project. Among the new facilities are life sciences labs, a second art studio, physical science labs, a 35,000 square foot library, a physical fitness center, a bookstore, student services and support areas (including student health services, student life and leadership, admissions and records, counseling, disabled student services, tutorial center, and career/transfer center), expanded dining space, classrooms/technology labs, faculty/administrative offices, digital media lab, and a 256-seat auditorium with some of the best media technology in the District. The campus offers state-of-the-art technology throughout, including a wireless network, fully mediated instructional facilities, and video-conferencing capabilities. Other unique features of the Petaluma Campus include the Capri Creek restoration project, community and permaculture gardens, sustainable design, and an accessible pedestrian and bike trail system with a route that extends around the perimeter of the campus and continues throughout the city of Petaluma. Some of the unique program offerings on the Petaluma Campus are the fall and spring Cinema Series, annual LumaFest community education fair and open house, Veterinary Technology program, Digital Media certificate, Water Utility Operations certificates, CISCO Networking certification in CCNA, IT Support certificate, Yoga Teacher Training program and Fitness, Nutrition and Health certificate. The campus is also host to a bustling Intercultural Center, the annual We the Future social justice conference, and several learning communities. SRJC Petaluma has more than 40 full-time faculty and 150 adjunct faculty members who enjoy interdisciplinary collaborations with their colleagues. Our faculty fully utilize the campus as an indoor/outdoor learning environment.     Essential Functions

    KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Examples of key duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature. Incumbents routinely perform approximately 80% of the duties below.
  • Develop, implement and monitor the Campus strategic enrollment management plan, the education master plan, the facilities master plan, and the instructional technology and equipment planning, and the marketing and outreach plan; plan and direct related activities and events; plan and oversee the Petaluma instructional webpages; direct the preparation and distribution of correspondence and marketing and informational materials.
  • Oversee the tenure review process for Petaluma departments and programs; coordinate tenure teams, meetings, class observations and timely completion of required documentation.
  • Collaborate with faculty on curriculum development and review, including the development and assessment of student learning outcomes; develop schedule of classes and monitor enrollments and faculty loads; monitor, analyze and adjust courses in response to student needs; recommend course amendments and curriculum changes.
  • Coordinate and direct educational planning activities, program development functions, courses, curriculum and information to meet District and student needs and enhance the educational effectiveness of instructional subject areas; direct the development and implementation of programs, services, plans, strategies, processes, projects, courses, goals and objectives; develop the Program and Resource Planning Process (PRPP) report for program review and resource planning and prioritization; plan and direct the course/program rotations and articulation of offerings with K12 and transfer institutions.
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned faculty, and staff; interview and select employees and recommend transfers, reassignment, termination and disciplinary actions; coordinate faculty and staff work assignments and schedules and review work to assure compliance with established standards, requirements and procedures.
  • Ensure adequate resources and personnel to meet the needs of assigned departments and programs; direct related procurement and purchasing functions; coordinate and direct activities to ensure proper facilities usage and access; ensure proper maintenance of department and program facilities.
  • Administer and monitor instructional programs and courses to ensure compliance with established curriculum standards and requirements; direct and participate in the development, analysis, implementation and enhancement of curriculum standards; coordinate activities and professional development functions to enhance faculty understanding of curriculum standards and requirements, instructional strategies and related materials.
  • Coordinate and direct communications, programs, services, activities and information between administrators, faculty, personnel, businesses, educational institutions, outside organizations, students, the public and various local, State and Federal agencies; receive, review, facilitate and ensure proper and timely resolution of student, staff, faculty, administrative, department and program issues, and complaints.
  • Provide consultation and technical expertise to students, staff, faculty, administrators and others concerning Campus operations and activities; respond to inquiries and provide detailed and technical information concerning assigned programs, departments, services, curriculum, courses and related standards, requirements, practices, schedules, strategies, plans, goals, objectives, laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Develop and prepare the budget for assigned instructional and student support operations, activities, departments and programs; analyze and review budgetary and financial data; authorize expenditures and conference requests in accordance with established policies and procedures; and research, obtain and maintain grants and other funding sources.
  • Provide technical information and assistance to the Vice President regarding instructional services, activities, needs and issues; participate in the formulation and development of policies, procedures and programs.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION:
    Master's Degree and ability to meet minimum qualifications for current SRJC faculty discipline.
