The TCU School of Music seeks a talented performer and teacher to lead the growing tuba/euphonium studio as an Assistant Professor of Professional Practice (full-time, non tenure-track). The successful candidate will have experience teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels with the potential to teach post-baccalaureate Artist Diploma students; maintain a high-quality tuba/euphonium studio through recruiting, engaged teaching, and local, regional, and national performance activities; teach in secondary areas according to the needs of the School as defined by the Director of the School of Music; and participate in departmental activities, including solo and collaborative performing, and other activities appropriate for a faculty member at a major research university. Department Details:

The TCU School of Music is a comprehensive program, offering bachelors, masters, doctoral, and artist diploma programs in performance, education, piano pedagogy, composition, conducting, music theory, musicology, and more. With approximately 350 students and over 75 full-time and part-time faculty, the School of Music prides itself on the individualized attention and world-class training and education that students receive while they are here. The School of Music is also home to the recently opened TCU Music Center, featuring state of the art rehearsal spaces for our bands, orchestra, and percussion studio. The building also houses the new Van Cliburn Concert Hall at TCU, a 717-seat venue featuring beautiful architecture and stunning acoustics.

School/College Description:

The TCU College of Fine Arts is home to six units: the School of Art, the School for Classical & Contemporary Dance, the School of Music, the Department of Design, the Department of Fashion Merchandising, and the Department of Theatre. The college offers 33 undergraduate degree programs and 24 advanced degree programs to help prepare the next generation of creative leaders in the arts. Approximately 850 undergraduate students and 120 graduate and professional program students pursue their passions in the TCU College of Fine Arts. These talented students study under renowned professors and guest artists, annually present more than 350 public performances and presentations, and display art and design work in juried exhibitions and competitions, among other creative activities. The college also offers a certificate in Arts Leadership & Entrepreneurship and oversees two on-campus art galleries.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Terminal Degree (i.e. DMA) in Tuba or Euphonium or equivalent professional experience
- Demonstrated potential in recruitment activities
- A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Teaching experience in a collegiate setting at any level
