Job Description

The Radiology Clinic of the UMKC School of Dentistry is seeking a reliable, competent and self-motivatedAdministrative Assistant (UM Job Title: Office Support Assistnat IV) to join our team.

This is an exciting position that supports patient care and the professional development of future dental care providers. This position works closely with student dentists and dental hygienists, coordinates student room assignments, and assures that accessory supplies are available for room use. This position is also part of the Radiology Clinic team that supervises and instructs the students as they learn and become experienced at completing patient radiographic procedures.

Ideal candidates will have a professional demeanor with the ability to interact with clinicians, clinical staff, and administrators at all levels. Ideal candidates must be dependable with the ability to successfully multi-task and they must maintain a professional demeanor with a professional appearance.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Administrative
    • Answer Radiology Clinic calls in a professional manner
    • Schedule CBCT scans appointments for School of Dentistry and private practice referral patients
    • Schedule lateral cephalograms for patients from private practice referring Doctors
    • Schedule radiographs (FMS, BW series, etc.) for Advanced Periodontics while managing all related documentation,
    • Migrate and store CBCT volumes in computers for faculty and student access
  • Clinic Clerical:
    • Confirming written orders for radiographic procedures
    • Assigning students to radiology rooms and tracking patient flow
    • placing protective barriers on PSP plates
    • dispensing sensor holding-beam alignment devices and accessories to students.
  • Office Clerical:
    • Order office supplies
    • Maintain count records of PSP plates
    • Mail out reports to referring Doctors
    • Coordinate requests for copies of radiographs
  • Additional duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working in a Dental Office
  • Previous experience using axiUm dental software
  • Previous experience with dental terminology
Full Time/Part Time

Full-Time, 40 hours per week (1.0 FTE), fully benefit-eligible from date of hire, staff position.

Salary

Up to $17.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity.

Shift

Monday to Friday, 8:00a to 5:00p
