Research Data Coordinator

The Epidemiology Department is seeking a Research Data Coordinator who will oversee and coordinate data collection and data management activities for clinical trials and other research projects, supporting the operations of one or more Coordinating Centers engaged in multi-site clinical research.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

    Monitor data entry and recruitment activity Perform data quality review and data cleaning tasks Assist clinics with data entry problems Design data entry screens using custom Excel and web-based libraries Program server-side scripts (ASP) for data system support Develop and implement data validation rules Prepare reports of data entry and clinic performance Assist with web site maintenance Perform routine data backups Perform and oversee data audits comparing database with data collection instruments Assist staff with computer and database tasks Perform ad hoc data entry Occasional travel expected Other tasks as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory):

    Bachelor's Degree in a Computer, Engineering, Science, Public Health, or related discipline Intermediate or advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word) Basic web page design experience (HTML) Computer programming in any language

Preferred Qualifications:

    Web-based programming, such as Javascript, ASP/ASP.NET, PHP, Python, Ruby, etc. Exposure to SQL and data manipulation techniques

Other:

  • Our team includes 3-5 other staff focused on data management activities, including data coordinators, data analysts, and data managers, supporting larger teams of project coordinators, project managers, research assistants, and research faculty.
  • Currently the team supports seven project networks comprised of approximately 14 distinct research projects.
  • Most project networks have clinical locations only in North America, but some include locations in Europe, Australia, and South Asia.

Starting Salary Range: $16.26 - $22.35/hr (commensurate with experience)

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
