Sidwell Friends School, a coeducational Quaker day school with campuses in Washington, DC and Bethesda, MD, seeks substitute on-call school nurses to work “as needed” during the school day.

The substitute school nurse will be responsible for providing first aid, administering medication, and maintaining health records.

Strong candidates will have experience working with children in a healthcare setting and have a warm and welcoming personal demeanor. Dependability, punctuality, and strong organizational skills are required.

Requirements:

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Washington, D.C. and Maryland
  
  
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  
  • Associates Degree of Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
    
    
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least one year of clinical pediatric nursing experience in the last 5 years
  
  
• Previous experience in public health or clinical setting, preferably in school nursing or in a community health setting servicing children
