Pay Range: $56,000 - $61,004 per year, depending on experience

Position Summary:
Applications are now being accepted for a full-time Program Manager for the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival and the Auditorium Chamber Music Series (ACMS) at the University of Idaho, in Moscow, ID.

This position will have the responsibility for the operations, organization, success, growth, and sustainability of these two programs. This position will also have the responsibility of ensuring these programs are fiscally responsible and properly staffed. The incumbent will promote vision and strategic initiatives for these programs including developing comprehensive strategic plans, building, and maintaining relationships, and implementing goals. This position will provide business and fiscal management through planning, organizing, and directing financial functions including budgeting, payroll, and purchasing. This position will also supervise and direct staff to ensure a cohesive and effective business unit.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3+ years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with:
  • Planning and implementing large projects and/or events;
  • Developing procedures and monitoring a budget;
  • Supervising staff and an organizational unit;
  • Interpreting and explaining specialized or complex material into information usable by the public;
  • Establishing and maintaining internal and external relationships;
  • Multitasking during high energy/high stress moments;
  • Analyzing and organizing information to make complex decisions;
  • Interpreting, explaining and applying state and federal regulations for maximum performance;



Knowledge of:
  • Management and organizational skills;
  • Computer applications for word processing, email, spreadsheet development, and data organization;

Must possess:
  • Communication and writing skills using proper grammar and punctuation as demonstrated in application materials.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in related field;
  • Experience administrating/managing a major music festival;
  • Knowledge of Jazz as an art form;
  • Experience working in a University setting;
  • Experience with fundraising for a major program and/or event;
  • Motivate and manage individuals for maximum performance.


Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:



Required Licensures, Certifications or other
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to meet UI driving requirements
  • Travel and working non standard business hours as needed.
