The Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering is seeking highly qualified candidates at the assistant, associate, or full professor level who will thrive in an intellectually diverse community of engineers and scientists across Purdue’s ongoing initiatives in Engineering in Medicine.  We are also working closely with the Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) and qualified candidates will be considered for a courtesy appointment at the IUSM. Our school undertakes cutting-edge biomedical research with a focus on translation to clinical applications and community engagement for improved outcomes that are proactive, patient-centered, and wellness-focused. We seek top candidates with recognition in the areas of biomedical instrumentation, implantable and wearable devices, embedded systems, energy harvesting, wireless power, electronics packaging, and neuroengineering. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering or a closely related discipline. Qualified applicants will also be considered for an endowed named professorship.

 

The successful candidate will be expected to develop an internationally-recognized, externally funded research program, develop and teach undergraduate and graduate level courses, perform service at the School, College and University levels, and help advance the frontiers of knowledge with current and future faculty affiliated with the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering. The candidate will have the ability to leverage and/or extend existing expertise in instrumentation and biomedical devices for collaboration with the IUSM, local biomedical device companies, a network of nearby hospitals, and internationally renowned colleagues in state-of-the-art facilities in the Purdue Colleges of Engineering, Pharmacy, Science, Health and Human Sciences, and Veterinary Medicine.
