Title: Assistant Professor in Education (Tenure-Track)

Date needed: Fall 2023

Hartwick College, a nationally ranked, liberal arts and sciences institution, invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position in Hartwick’s Teacher Education Program beginning Fall 2023, pending final administrative approval. Minimum qualifications include a PhD or EdD in Curriculum and Instruction, or related field, and experience teaching Social Studies at the secondary level. Master’s holding candidates who are ABD will be considered, potentially at an alternative rank. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach courses in Curriculum and Instruction, Methods of Teaching Social Studies, and provide Student Teaching supervision. Other courses will be assigned depending on the candidate’s training, expertise and interests. Teaching load will average 20 credit hours or their equivalent per academic year, and faculty teach during the College’s distinctive four-week January Term. The successful candidate must be committed to excellence and innovation in undergraduate teaching, active engagement in scholarly or creative activities, and working closely with today’s students in a small college environment. Committee service and academic advising also are expected.
