Summary
SUMMARY : Lead all marketing and promotional efforts for the University’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, including helping to research, create, organize, recommend, and implement comprehensive, integrated athletics marketing plans; assist in the generation of revenue via ticket sales and sponsorship sales; plan and supervise event promotions; and prepare and execute gameday activities by performing the following duties: Essential Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Understand and agree to abide by the mission of CBU and the CBU Athletics Department.
2. Prepare marketing plans, conduct meetings with coaches, and work directly with other departments to ensure success by maximizing event attendance and generating revenue.
3. Develop, implement, and lead home game promotions. Direct game operation functions relating to marketing (i.e., writing game day scripts, articles, PA content, message boards, etc.) Coordinate sponsorships, music/band arrangements, and spirit squads (cheer, dance teams, and mascot).
4. Coordinate with communications, media production, ticketing, and event management to ensure that the fan experience is a priority at all athletic events.
5. Work directly with Associate Athletics Director for External Relations on the activation of sponsorships.
6. Develop programming, including video board content, pyrotechnics, and special effects, on-field/court recognitions, halftime shows, national anthem singers, flyovers, sponsor activations, in-game promotions and contests, and other entertainment elements.
7. Direct oversight of the Athletic Marketing and Fan Engagement staff, including one full-time staff member, student interns, and gameday personnel. This position is responsible for hiring and recruiting for these positions.
8. Develop and manage the annual Athletic Marketing and Fan Engagement budget.
9. Work with the Athletic Ticket Office to plan and coordinate season ticket campaigns and group tickets through strategy development, research, advertising, and outbound communication efforts.
10. Works with the external unit to lead the coordination of all aspects of Advertising, Community Outreach, and Digital Marketing. This includes but is not limited to, the implementation of traditional advertising methods, participation in community and campus events, digital media and the development of an annual communications calendar.
11. Manage the annual kids club membership drive and fulfillment of benefits and experiences.
12. Oversee the music approval process for in-game experiences.
13. Participate in regularly scheduled athletics marketing and athletics operations meetings.
14. Represent the department and program to various internal and external groups of the University. Including the design and execution of community-focused events throughout the year.
15. Adhere to all NCAA, Conference, and University policies, rules, regulations, and operational procedures.
16. Some travel will be necessary related to job responsibilities. Supervisory Responsibilities
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Ability to drive a golf cart on campus. Education and/or Experience
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE : Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; and two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education. Master’s degree preferred.
