Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in Law and Political Economy in China in the Department of Law (Ref.: 516513), to commence on December 1, 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter for one year.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Law, Economics, Political Science, Public Administration, or any other areas related to judicial politics or political economy. He/She should have abundant knowledge and experience of issues relating to the legal and political system in China; strong communication and organizational skills; sensitivity and commitment to cultural awareness; and the ability to work with a high degree of independence. Strong preference will be given to candidate who: (1) has demonstrated proven ability to develop and pursue a coherent agenda of legal research and interdisciplinary scholarship; (2) has significant experience of presenting research at domestic and international conferences; and (3) has shown exceptional potential to develop a body of high-quality publications in scholarly journals.

The appointee will work as part of one of the world’s leading research teams working on law, judicial behavior, development drawn from across the University as well as teams working on collaborative research projects around the world. He/She will be expected to develop and pursue a coherent agenda of legal research and/or interdisciplinary scholarship; research complex ideas, concepts or theories and apply appropriate methodologies; present research at domestic and international conferences; develop a body of high-quality publications in scholarly journals. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.
