The College of Business at Ohio University invites applications
for one tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor
of Finance. This position is in-person on campus in beautiful
Athens, Ohio and is set to begin in August 16, 2022. Applicants
must be ABD at the time of application and must have an earned
doctorate in Finance or equivalent degree in finance, or a related
field, from an AACSB or equivalent accredited institution by the
start date. We welcome candidates with evidence of solid research
potential and effectiveness in teaching.
About the Finance Department
The Finance Department offers excellent research resources and
support in addition to a variety of teaching opportunities. Ohio
University has WRDS access to CRSP, Compustat, OptionMetrics, and
Execucomp as well as access to Thomson Reuters Analyst Reports,
Bloomberg, and Factset. Our faculty has published in Financial
Analysts Journal, Financial Management, Journal of Accounting and
Economics, Journal of Banking & Finance, Journal of Corporate
Finance, Journal of Finance, Review of Asset Pricing Studies,
Journal of Financial Economics, and Journal of Financial and
Quantitative Analysis. New hires will receive travel support for
academic conferences as well as summer research support. The
teaching load for Assistant Professors is 2/2 for the first two
years and 2/3 in following years. The average class size is
35.
