University Highlights
Piano Program

The piano area at Utah State University combines music core instruction with piano pedagogy and performance courses, preparing students for careers in performance, teaching, and to pursue further education in graduate piano programs. We offer Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Piano Performance and Pedagogy, a minor in Piano Pedagogy, and serve other degree programs for piano-primary students in Bachelor of the Arts and Music Therapy. Students receive multiple opportunities for collaborative and solo performance during their studies, and work closely with a renowned piano faculty with a wide range of expertise. Students regularly engage in intimate learning opportunities with leading pianists through the Wassermann Piano Series, the CCA Visiting Artist Series, and the Chamber Music Society of Logan.

A unique aspect of our program is the opportunity to receive hands-on teaching training in the USU Youth Conservatory, a preparatory lab program that provides private and group instruction to over 100 pre-college pianists each week. USU became an All-Steinway school in 2012, offering students the opportunity to perform on the highest-quality pianos in the practice rooms and our world-class performance venues. Our current inventory currently includes 11 Steinway D's, 1 concert grand Fazioli, 13 Steinway grand piano practice rooms, a Yamaha Hybrid N2, and a full inventory of upright pianos and digital pianos. We invite you to follow our piano program on Instagram or Facebook.
