Assistant Professor in Chemistry (US Air Force Academy)

The US Air Force Academy (USAFA), Department of Chemistry (https://www.usafa.edu/academic/chemistry) invites applications for a full-time appointment at the rank of assistant professor in chemistry. The primary function of this position is to instruct at the undergraduate level in physical and core chemistry (general chemistry I & II) courses. The potential candidate is also expected to develop a research program involving cadets that leads to publications and conference proceedings. The position requires a Ph.D. in chemistry with a strong background in physical chemistry or an allied field.  The department of chemistry is well equipped with modern instrumentation to facilitate teaching and research endeavors.  Recent instrumentation upgrades within the last five years include: NMR, GCMS (2), LCMS, TGA, DSC, AFM, SEM, and Raman spectroscopy.  The application window will open on 9/30/2022 and close 11/7/2022.
