Job Description Summary

The Racquet Sports Centers Operations Supervisor will oversee front desk operations and customer service at both Penn Tennis and Squash facilities. They will provide administrative support during prime-time hours and enhance the experience of all patrons. The supervisor will be responsible for the training of all front desk staff workers including the on-boarding of new trainees. Training will include program knowledge, customer service, maintenance, and emergency procedures. Customer Service is an important part of this supervisory position. They will serve as the customer service point person for the racquet centers. The supervisor will do daily facility walk-throughs and interact with patrons. The Racquet Sports Operations Supervisor will be responsible for managing our registration and court booking applications ClubAutomation and Club Locker. Finally, the Racquet Sports Operations Supervisor will be expected to assess risk management while on shift and complete regular risk management checks at Hecht Tennis Center, Hamlin Outdoor courts, and Squash Center.

Job Description

Duties:
  • Train front desk staff on maintaining facility operations and procedures in case of emergencies. Provide assistance with training new staff.
  • Assist with overlooking the daily schedule to eliminate booking errors. Making sure reservations match court activity (indoor & outdoors).
  • End of the night making sure each reservation is checked in and paid.
  • Making sure payments were charged correctly for the previous day (i.e. people paying per affiliation, and paying the correct amount for programs and lessons).
  • Verify all members have active memberships and follow up communication with varsity matches and closings.
  • Making sure clinics have met the minimum roster before making the decision to cancel.
  • Work with front desk staff to make sure people have reservations and are wearing proper shoes.
  • Monitoring courts after top of hour. Facility and maintenance walk-throughs for Hecht Tennis Center, Hamlin Outdoor courts, & Squash Center.
  • Making sure all courts and curtain are clear of balls and equipment at closing
  • Making sure the equipment closet and backcourt area are organized
  • Inspect facilities at the end of each month: safety, fire regulations.
  • Making sure to complete curtain checks and provide water, singles sticks, score cards, ice bags, AED for external rentals
  • Facilities Contact and Representative for External Rental Events


Qualifications

High School Grad/GED Degree and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Bachelors degree preferred. Proven record of excellent internal and external customer service and communication skills, have the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and/or holiday may be required.

Targeted Pay Range:

$15-17 per hour commensurate with education and experience.
