Associate Director - Finance & Operations

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Director of Business & Operational Strategy and working closely with the Office of the Chancellor Finance Team, the Associate Director of Finance & Operations manages all operations for the EDGE RC and CC. The Associate Director supports day-to-day operations and plays a pivotal role in ensuring that EDGE programs kick off, run, and end smoothly. They ensure proper vendor contract verification, timely requisition and invoice processing for all vendors, and support monthly reconciliation of all EDGE indexes. They provide strong customer service support, support the timely processing of transactions, and develop recommendations to reconcile discrepancies. The Associate Director assists with onboarding/offboarding staff members and works closely with the Office of the Chancellor Finance team to ensure compliance with NU and OTC policies. They work closely with EDGE department leaders on all budgeting aspects ensuring expenses are in line with approved budgets and provide budget reports for units. They assist with the modeling of revenue and expense projections for the EDGE RC and support the monthly forecasting and annual budgeting exercises. The Associate Director will work closely with all financial systems including but not limited to: Banner Finance, Cognos, Concur, and Argos. The Associate Director will aggregate and summarize complex data from multiple systems to prepare revenue and expense modeling scenarios.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's preferred
  • 5-7 years of business operations experience, including budget management experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience required
  • Minimum of 5 years of customer service experience required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong multi-tasking, organization, problem solving and time management skills
  • Customer service focused and comfort interfacing with a diverse community
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to take initiative and follow-through
  • Demonstrated flexibility, positive attitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment while handling multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in Banner Finance and Microsoft Office Suite preferred
  • Experience with Enterprise Finance Systems, Sage Intacct, Concur, Cognos and TM1 (IBM) budget software platform preferred

    The division is extremely busy and requires an individual with proven experiences in handling confidential materials, multi-tasking, and handling sensitive situations in a calm, thoughtful and professional manner. Must be able to manage deadlines and has a proven ability to work independently and collaboratively across units.
