Job Description
Missouri Online’s Academic Technology team seeks a remote, in-person or hybrid Instructional Technologist who is passionate about helping others. Your ability to understand and explain technology to faculty and students will assist with online learning across the four University of Missouri campuses. Our Instructional Technologists provide support to faculty and students for a wide variety of academic technology. Support is provided via phone, chat and email.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with faculty on the integration and successful application of educational technology solutions including:
- Provide technical support to faculty in the use of learning management systems and educational delivery platforms for the University of Missouri System to ensure effective educational delivery experiences.
- Provide learning opportunities for faculty to address both the technical and pedagogical applications of the System’s enterprise academic technologies such as lecture capture systems, streaming systems, learning object creation tools, and academic content repositories, etc.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with faculty and other academic leaders.
- Design, delivery, and maintain training content to support teaching and learning including:
- Create and maintain knowledge base articles, audio/video materials, and other multimedia resources to address effective use of a variety of learning technologies, as well as address changing trends in teaching and learning.
- Create clear, concise, well-planned how-to videos and other materials to help students, faculty, and staff in a timely and effective manner to address their unique needs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Missouri Online tools and emerging trends.
- Respond to a variety of complex and urgent faculty, staff, and student inquiries including independently identifying the issues and delivering solutions. Ensure optimal customer service to a wide variety of customers, including listening and communication skills, and problem-solving skills.
- Work regularly and collaboratively with instructional designers, Academic Technologists, and IT technology staff.

$50,000-$54,000/year
Grade: GGS 9
University Title: Instructional Technologist II
$54,000-$58,000/year
Grade: GGS 10
University Title: Instructional Technologist III

Minimum Qualifications
Instructional Technologist II
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Instructional Technologist III
Bachelor's degree in related/relevant area and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in higher education.
- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering training
- Successful experience working within a collaborative and results-driven environment.
- Two years of technology support experience, preference to those with experience supporting a Learning Management System or other types of educational technology.
- Three years of technology support experience, preference to those with experience supporting a Learning Management System or other types of educational technology
- Specific experience supporting the Canvas LMS
