Job Summary

The Department of Student Affairs Information Technology (SAIT) encourages applications for the IT Coordinator & Application Support Analyst ! The IT Coordinator & Application Support Analyst is responsible for software application support and will serve as the local contact for IT systems in the Recreation Center for the Division of Student Affairs. The position requires significant technical skill and knowledge about computer systems and operating systems and how they are used in a variety of settings. The administrator needs to possess expertise with several hardware platforms, operating systems, guest management systems and user interfaces in order to analyze the needs of the user community, make recommendations, and initiate changes in the available technical environment and support structure as appropriate. Additional duties will include, working with software vendors to perform system upgrades, serving as the Student Affairs OnBase administrator, maintaining multiple systems and/or applications with vendor support and serve as the SA IT contact for the Recreation Center. This professional position works independently as it relates to installing and solve the various application and related systems.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Business Application Administration
  • In-house expert on maintaining and using specialized software. Working in a team of experts, this position helps to support multiple lines of business applications including applications that support the Recreation Center and other Health & Wellness applications. Support system configurations, maintain access control and independently handle upgrades and vendor relationships.
  • Administration and management of application health and day-to-day systems operations that provides reliable access for users.
  • Work independently to operationalize projects that help the division better align with current roadmaps in campus technology.
  • Support division and campus efforts around consolidation and streamlining service of software and software licensing.
  • Diagnose and debug problems with software and/or hardware; resolve or initiate resolutions.
  • Thoroughly document the design, implementation, modifications and ongoing maintenance of these systems.
  • Training on the support of these Student Affairs software applications will be provided.
  • Working nights and weekends may be required in case of IT emergencies such as infrastructure failures, outages and security concerns.
  • Responsible for safeguarding files and data against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure.
  • Serve as a member of the Student Affairs IT team and work closely across the team to provide the services, support and solutions to the Division of Student Affairs.
Manage Computers, Peripherals, Software and Hardware Systems
  • Install, test, manage, and support computer systems, operating systems, user interfaces, system and software applications in the Division of Student Affairs.
  • Some installation, testing, management, and support of computers and peripheral equipment such as printers, scanners, audio/visual equipment, and digital signage will be required.
  • Interface computer hardware and software to specialized diagnostic instrumentation for control and data collection purposes.
  • Perform routine and specialized administration of systems including security overview and protection and OS and application installation and updates.
  • Assign desktop support tickets to OIT Dedicated Desktop Support.
  • Perform both system and network level health monitoring, responding and engaging as needed.
  • Provide assistance in guiding and planning for future system/network needs, considering service availability, growth and changing business requirements
  • Serve as the local contact for Audio/Visual support. Only expected to resolve minor A/V issues then hand the issue over to the SA IT A/V Administrator or OIT.
  • This position is expected to work in a hybrid work modality.
  • Use of a University Vehicle for on-campus work will be provided
Student Affairs OnBase Administrator
  • Training, certifications and contacts with CU Boulder and system OnBase administrators will be provided.

What We Can Offer
  • Starting salary is $70,000 - $75,000.

What We Require
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology or a related field.
  • Two years of related experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
  • This position requires expertise and experience in Intel-based and compatible hardware architecture computer systems, Microsoft Operating Systems in a TCP/IP networked and Active Directory environment, and current workstation application software. Similar experience with Apple computer systems may also be required.

  • Significant technical skill and knowledge about computer systems and operating systems and how they are used in a variety of settings.
  • Expertise with several hardware platforms, operating systems and user interfaces.
  • Ability to plan and provide secure and efficient technical support for remote locations and off-site departments.
  • Ability to support system configurations, maintain access control and independently handle upgrades and vendor relationships.
  • Strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of and experience with managing business applications.
  • Superb communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with technical and non-technical staff.
What We Would Like You To Have
  • Three years of experience administering software in an IT capacity.
  • Experience with recreation center software solutions and healthcare software solutions is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
