Position Summary:

The Department of Psychology and Counseling at Arkansas State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Psychology, with expertise in Cognitive Psychology, preferably with an emphasis in forensics. Position to begin August 2023.

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Primary teaching responsibilities will include Cognitive Psychology at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as other classes, such as History of Psychology, as need and interest arise
  • Development of a new undergraduate course in Forensic Psychology is also encouraged
  • Forensic Psychology has been offered in the past as a seminar and it is regularly requested by potential and current students
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

This individual may also contribute to new research endeavors across specializations with existing department faculty, such as the psychometrics of forensic measurements, biofeedback within a forensic context, and social influence and legal psychology

As psychology is a diverse field with many specializations, there are many potential opportunities for collaborations across specializations within the department as well as outside the department

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications:

A doctoral degree in Psychology, preferred emphasis in Cognitive or Forensic psychology. Candidates who are advanced ABDs will be considered at the rank of instructor until the dissertation is defended
