As a part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University seeks qualified applicants for the position of Director for Accreditation and Program Assessment for the Leighton School of Nursing. Reporting to the Associate Dean, Leighton School of Nursing, and this person will design data collection strategies based on the school’s assessment plan and obtain and analyze the data.  The Director prepares reports for accreditation and State Board approvals for all locations in and out of state.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Actively engages the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values, honoring the legacy of the founding congregation, promoting unity in diversity, and integrating the Catholic Franciscan Intellectual traditions in courses, programs, and services.
  • Prepare and report statistical data for systems used in the University and Leighton School of Nursing.
  • Support the assessment schedule for school wide assessment plan
  • Supervises the collection and cataloging of syllabi for each semester
  • Supervises the full time and adjunct faculty lists
  • Communicate assessment expectations to faculty and staff
  • Prepare and manage University, accreditation and State Board reports for all locations (multiple states with multiple sets of standards)
  • Track data for Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and nursing accreditation bodies (multiple states with multiple sets of standards)
  • Run reports on any data that need to be tracked longitudinally  
  • Manage and monitor the collection of student and faculty surveys 
  • Keep abreast of changes in technology and seek professional development as needed.
  • Implement new and align current best practices, processes and procedures across academic programs
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of Marian University.
  • Master’s degree, Doctoral degree preferred. Experience in educational assessment, data reporting or similar is required.
  •  Comfortable learning new technology and teaching it to faculty, staff and students.
  • Canvas knowledge preferred
  • Three years of experience in higher education working with faculty, students and staff. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational skills necessary to meet multiple timelines and due dates.
  • Experience in proofreading and preparing reports and manuscripts is desired

Essential Functions:

Work hours necessary to perform job requirements satisfactorily on a regular basis.  Manage absence from work in responsible manner to ensure service to clients, work teams, and coworkers.  Comply with Marian University policies and practices and seeking clarification of them when necessary.
