Job Description:

SUMMARY: This position supports our Director of Employee Relations within the Human Resources Department.

DEPARTMENT: Human Resources

BASIC FUNCTION: Provides project management, policy and process administration to the Human Resources.

UNUSUAL WORK CONDITIONS : Requires a high degree of confidentiality.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS NEEDED:

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Management, or related field; or equivalent related experience.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a Human Resource environment; excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills; computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Experience working in higher education and with Workday HRIS is a plus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Serves as the “go-to” person for designated employee and payroll related issues and first point of contact for wide scope of HR matters including vacancies, employment, benefits, policies, Workday HRIS, Employee Programs, payroll issues, time off, etc.

  • Assists with workplace investigations, performance management, corrective action process;

  • Assists with updating and/or creating policies and procedures;

  • Escalate critical issues to SME

  • Assists with development and facilitation of staff and faculty training;

  • Assists with basic compensation analysis and salary surveys, including merit increases Assists with compliance issues and handbook updates

  • Assists team with data integrity audits and data reporting

  • Support annual HR cycle deliverables, including performance management

  • Assists in the professional development for Human Resources, including by: promoting an image of efficiency and courtesy throughout the University community and consistent with the Human Resources mission, acting as a responsible committee representative, as requested

  • Participates in departmental and interdepartmental meetings as requested

  • Remains up to date on current trends in the Human Resources space and shares developments with HR colleagues Ensures compliance with University policies and applicable legal requirements pertinent to both day-to-day management of employees and the employee life cycle Assists in workforce and professional development initiatives Promotes safe and secure working conditions, including:

  • Promoting the proper utilization of equipment and tools

  • Notifying supervisor immediately of any unsafe working conditions

Performs other related duties as requested or required. Duties may be changed and/or be added at any time.
