Job Summary:

Earth Partnership is a restoration-based environmental education program located in the Department of Planning and Landscape Architecture. Earth Partnership using the process of ecological restoration as a framework for interdisciplinary learning. Earth Partnership works to intentionally include diverse cultural perspectives on stewardship and restoration and to offer learning opportunities that are valuable to learners of different ages, languages and ecological and cultural places. Earth Partnership: Indigenous Arts & Sciences (IAS) IAS integrates indigenous knowledge and community cultural connections to reframe and reclaim science learning in tribal communities. IAS is co-developed with Indigenous partners in Wisconsin, including the Ho-Chunk Nation, Bad River Lac du Flambeau, and Red Cliff Bands of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians along with the two tribal colleges Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe College and College of Menominee Nation. This position will primarily support IAS efforts including the New Beginnings for Tribal Students initiative in collaboration with the tribal colleges.

Join the Earth Partnership team and community partners to provide general administrative support and organize daily operations and communications to build capacity for addressing priorities for equitable collaboration, cultural connections, and social justice in environmental science.

This position will report directly to the Director of the Earth Partnership Program and will provide support/service to all Earth Partnership staff.

Responsibilities:

Provides general administrative support, while exercising discretion, to the administrator of a department or division of the institution or to the administrator of multiple institution programs, services, and activities.
  • 20% Schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, conferences, travel, and work unit operations
  • 30% Serves as a primary point of contact for individuals and groups, provides organizational information via phone, in person, and through other communication mediums
  • 20% Prepares and audits complex records, edits documents, and reviews work done by others
  • 20% Develops, sends, receives, copies, and distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures
  • 10% Develops, implements, and maintains methods and organizational systems directed at the maintenance of electronic/physical records related to work operations according to established policies and procedures

Qualifications:

Required Experience:
- Knowledge of project management best practices
- Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, written and oral communication skills
- Commitment to social justice, equity, inclusion, and asset-based perspectives
- Well-organized, resourceful and detail-oriented with a strong drive to make things work
- Proficiency with MS Office software

Preferred Experience:
- Experience with budgeting and general financial functions
- Experience with marketing or public relations
- Experience with developing print and digital communication materials
- Experience with Adobe In-Design
