Brief Statement of Duties:

The Department of Psychological Science at Northern Michigan University invites applications for a three-year team appointment at the Assistant Professor level with specialization in Clinical Psychology. The position will start in August, 2023, and is campus-based.

The position requires teaching 12 credit hours per semester. The courses to be taught will consist of undergraduate and graduate online courses related to area of mental health and clinical psychology, such as Abnormal Psychology, Psychological Assessment, Psychological Interventions, Ethics, Practicum, as well as those in the general curriculum. Other responsibilities will be conducted on campus, and include advising psychology majors and assisting with departmental service.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education:

Doctorate or equivalent terminal degree

Discipline / Degree Area:

Psychology or closed related field.

Required Specialized Training/Certifications:

Must be qualified to receive a Psychologist License in the State of Michigan.

Required Minimum Work Experience:

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties:

Ability to develop and teach courses, deliver course content online, and advise students about the academic program and careers in psychology.

Additional Desirable Qualifications

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

-Level of experience teaching psychology courses in a fully online format
-Level of experience teaching online courses using Quality Matters standards
-Quality of documentation supporting a positive record of advising or mentoring students
-Quality and quantity of published peer-reviewed research
-Level of experience arranging practicum sites for student placements
