Job Description:

SUNY Oneonta accepts applications for the Nurse 1 and Nurse 2 positions in the Counseling, Health, and Wellness Center on a continuous recruitment basis. Applications are reviewed on an as-needed basis.

Applicants to this posting will receive a score notice letter. Applicants who receive a passing score will be added to the eligible list for the position and may receive a canvass letter when a Nurse 1 or Nurse 2 position is vacant. The canvass letter is sent to determine your interest in a specific job at SUNY Oneonta, and to request your availability. To be considered for a specific vacancy, you must respond and return the canvass letter as instructed.

Nurse 1 duties include but are not limited to: under the supervision of a higher-level registered nurse or licensed health care provider, provide direct nursing care to individuals in accordance with Article 139 of the Education Law; administer treatments and nursing procedures within established guidelines and as prescribed by licensed health care providers; consult on nursing matters with treatment teams; and may provide clinical supervision to licensed and unlicensed direct care staff on nursing care activities to ensure the provision of quality care.

Nurse 2 duties include but are not limited to: under the general direction of a higher-level registered nurse or licensed health care provider, independently provide direct nursing care to individuals in accordance with Article 139 of the Education Law; supervise nursing care activities; and provide clinical supervision and training to Nurses 1 and direct care staff.

Requirements:

To qualify for the Nurse 1 eligible list, applicants must be licensed and currently registered to practice nursing in New York State, possess a limited permit to practice nursing in New York State, or be eligible to enter the examination for such license.

To qualify for Nurse 2 eligible list, applicants must be licensed and currently registered to practice nursing in New York State AND have one year of full-time post-RN licensure clinical nursing experience.
