About Campus Living
Campus Living, a unit within the division of Student Life, serves to provide the best residential living experience for students at the University at Buffalo. Campus Living offers quality, affordable and desirable campus housing in support of the university’s mission. Campus Living is comprised of 13 residence halls and five apartment complexes accommodating 8,000 residents on the North and South Campuses. Approximately 5,800 students reside in the residence halls and 2,200 students reside in the apartment complexes. Campus Living is comprised of 210 professional and classified staff with a total operating budget of $70m.

Departmental Operating Needs
This position requires strong customer service skills, good listening skills, and the ability to understand and follow written and/or oral instructions.
Minimum Qualifications
There are no education or experience requirements. Applicants must be physically able to perform medium to heavy physical labor.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in institutional cleaning.
Physical Demands
- Applicants must be physically able to perform medium to heavy physical labor.
- Must be able to work from step stools and ladders; wash light fixtures and high places such as ceilings.
- Must have the ability to stand, stoop, bend, twist and stretch for long periods of time.
Salary Range
$15,090.50
Work Days
Rotating Shifts (overtime, work on holidays, and non scheduled days may be required.)
Work Hours
Part-time; work hours may vary.

Position Summary
Campus Living invites applications for the Cleaner position . In this role, your contributions will provide clean, safe and attractive facilities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Collect and empty trash, recyclables, and dispose of waste
- Wash and clean floors, corridors, stairwells, walls, partitions, and windows using mops, detergents, brushes and other cleaning devices
- Vacuum, strip and wax floors and shampoo carpets as appropriate
- Scrub and clean showers and lavatories daily
- Replace light bulbs, and dust/wash light fixtures and high places
- Change curtains and drapes, and hang pictures and other objects
- Clean and disinfect public areas, lounges, halls and weight rooms
- Move furniture and equipment in connection to cleaning activities, meeting set up and/or special events
