Job Description:
The Environmental Studies and Sciences Program at Rhodes College invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor position with expertise in sustainability, climate, or environmental justice to begin August 2023. Applicants should have a commitment to teaching undergraduates while maintaining an active research program. Rhodes College offers competitive start-up resources, and the college is uniquely positioned within a major city, which allows for collaborations and community partnerships that span from grassroots and nonprofit organizations to the health care industry and local government. Teaching responsibilities are five courses each year, which will include Environment and Society, and Senior Seminar. Other teaching opportunities may include introductory and upper-level environmental courses, GIS, and additional electives within the candidate's specialty. There may be further scholarship and teaching opportunities that align with other interdisciplinary programs and departments across campus. Candidates must have completed all requirements for a Ph.D. by August 1, 2023.
