Assistant Director for Residential Learning
About this Opportunity
Looking for a strong, visionary, dynamic candidate with a commitment to on-going learning, creating of socially just and inclusive communities, and focused on student learning and development to join our team. The Assistant Director for Residential Learning sits on our Residence Life leadership team and supervises 14-18 Residential Learning Coordinators and Assistant Residential Learning Coordinators. They will facilitate the learning and development of students through the development and an implementation of a curricular approach to residential learning in the residence halls. Collaborate with the Residential Learning Team in developing inclusive residential learning communities. This position must demonstrate an effort to understand their individual and collective role in creating inclusive environments and ensuring a framework of equity and justice is embedded in their day-to-day work. Promote equity through the (1) identification and removal of barriers; (2) facilitation of learning, (3) cultivation of community, and (4) empowerment of people. This position provide planning and direction in the development and implementation of residence hall policies, programs and activities. The Assistant Director is an essential member of the team strategically planning all aspects of a comprehensive housing management team.

Position Function
Through the supervision and support of 14 -18 Residential Learning Coordinators and Assistant Residential Learning Coordinators, facilitate the learning and development of students through the development and an implementation of a curricular approach to residential learning in the residence halls. Provide planning and direction in the development and implementation of residence hall policies, programs and activities.
Minimum Education
Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum Experience
Over three years of post-master’s experience in student personnel administration in housing and residence life in higher education.
Minimum Other
Highly developed skills in supervision and training.
Authorization to work in the US
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Education
Master’s degree from an accredited institution in a discipline represented within student affairs administration.
Preferred Experience
Experience working in at least two different institutions. Experience with residential curriculum.
Preferred Other
Pre-Employment Screening
Requires successful completion of a background check and education verification.
