Job Details

The English Department at Niagara University invites applications for a full-time, tenure track position for an Assistant Professor in Nineteenth-century British Literature with expertise to offer additional courses in one or more of the following areas: 18th C or 20th C British literature; Literature for Children and Adolescents; Postcolonial Literary Studies or Comparative World Literatures.

We seek candidates with a strong commitment to undergraduate education and excellence in teaching. Responsibilities include contributing to our general education course, Literary Perspectives, as well as teaching upper-level courses in the candidate's areas of specialization and interest. The position carries a 3/3 teaching load, in addition to advising majors; contributing to the department, University, and/or community service; and engaging in scholarship. The successful candidate may also contribute courses to the University's first-year social justice seminar. Interested applicants should submit a cover letter, CV, one-page statement of teaching philosophy, and three reference letters. Ph.D. expected by time of hire. The review of applications will begin on December 15, 2022, and will continue until the position is filled.
