Annual Salary Range: $50,000 to $55,000

Position Summary

The Assistant Director will, under general supervision from the Associate Director of Student Experience, manage programs and services within the Office of Academic Programs and Student Experience (APSE). The Assistant Director will have responsibility logistics, execution, financial and other related decisions for programs and services.

Specifically, this position advises student leaders and programs to ensure they maintain high standards related to student life and community development that supports the educational mission of the institution. These may include managing mentoring programs, consulting with students about team dynamics with their peers in the MBA programs, developing and executing new programs and services, and advising student government associations and other student-led initiatives.

Ideal candidates should have experience in student affairs and student life program delivery, preferably in a business or professional school environment, and be enthusiastic about making a direct positive impact in the lives of graduate business students.

Essential Functions
  • Supports department and area mission vision and goals, within the Student Experience team of the Office of Academic Programs and Student Experience
  • Responsible for program logistics including budgeting and risk management
  • Advises and guides student leaders in the planning and implementation of program and event logistics, including risk management
  • Develops, plans and implements programming and outreach for student leaders and the campus community
  • Coordinates leadership development programming for student leaders
  • Responsible for logistics and marketing related to area(s) of responsibility
  • Documents and assesses area functions on a regular basis
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Additional Functions / Information
  • Engage and support working professional MBA students, with a special focus on evening and weekend students (weekend and evening work as needed)
  • Develop and manage student-facing communications and messaging
  • Support development and coaching of MBA student teams
  • Support specific student initiatives and organizations as directed, including student government association for working professional MBA students
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2 years of administrative work experience
    • In lieu of the experience requirement, additional related education, above and beyond what is required, on an equivalent year for year basis may be substituted
  • A commitment to diversity and inclusion
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, oral, and visual
  • Advising high‐level student leaders in 1‐1 setting
  • Ability to apply student development and learning outcomes theories
  • Ability to manage events and programs
  • Ability to instruct students in risk management and program planning"
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, Student Affairs, or Business Administration
  • Experience in student life, student affairs, or student development programming
