Job/Department Summary:

Working independently, under the general direction of the Executive Director of University Public Engagement (UPE), the Marketing and Communications Coordinator develops, coordinates, and facilitates the implementation of marketing campaigns, branding, and public and campus messaging for University Public Engagement (UPE) with a primary focus on Chico Performances, North State Symphony, and Commencement. Incumbent develops marketing and public relations strategies and materials to successfully promote UPE, Chico Performances, and North State Symphony with a goal of selling tickets and creating a positive public image in support of the mission and business models of UPE and its arts presenting projects. Incumbent serves as the Production Coordinator of the Chico Performances and North State Symphony season brochures and sales campaigns. The position crafts and supports commencement communication working with UPE communicators and campus wide communicators directing communication to graduates, parents and patrons, community, and media. Incumbent develops positive working relationships with external and internal stakeholders, such as patrons, artists, artists' representatives, community media outlets, donors, corporate sponsors, independent contractors, university staff and faculty, and works collaboratively with the UPE management team, to achieve marketing, sales, development, and engagement goals for the department.

Mandatory Vaccinations:

The CSU requires faculty, staff, and students who are accessing campus facilities to be fully immunized against COVID-19 or have received a medical or religious exemption. Selected candidates should be prepared to comply with this requirement.

Preferences:

Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills:
  • Bilingual.
  • 3 years of recent experience in arts, event, or experience marketing.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience, primarily related to marketing and communications projects.
  • Experience in planning, budgeting, and scheduling associated with marketing and communications projects.
Required Education and Experience:

The qualifications for this position are normally obtained through a college degree, which includes relevant coursework in the field.
AND
Four years of related professional or technical experience such as organizational communications, media, marketing, or public relations.

Time Base: Full-time


Pay Plan: 12/12

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer - Mon-Thurs 7:00-5:30.

Salary and Benefits Information:

$4,391 - $7,945 per month / $52,692 - $95,340 annually (Initial placement within the salary range for new employees is contingent upon education and experience).

This position qualifies for benefits including tuition fee waiver (if eligible).
