Continuing Track Assistant Professor, Entrepreneurship

LERNER COLLEGE OF BUSINESS AND ECONOMICS

UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE

The Department of Business Administration and the Horn Program in Entrepreneurship at the University of Delaware invite applications for two full-time, continuing track Assistant Professors in Entrepreneurship. Candidates for these positions must hold a PhD in entrepreneurship, business or a relevant discipline. Preference will be given to candidates with: direct entrepreneurship or intrapreneurship experience; long-term interests pertaining to a sub-discipline in entrepreneurship (including, but not limited to: entrepreneurial leadership, social entrepreneurship, new product development and eco entrepreneurship); and demonstrated excellence in teaching entrepreneurship using experiential pedagogy. The anticipated workload split for the position will emphasize teaching (i.e., a 2/3 or 3/3 annual course load) while also including dedicated time to maintain an active research and publishing program and contribute to co-curricular offerings. The ideal candidate(s) will join a dynamic, entrepreneurial team that has gained national and international recognition for excellence in its youth, social entrepreneurship, undergraduate education and technology commercialization programming.

We are seeking a candidate who understands and has the potential to improve upon best practices for entrepreneurship education, including an emphasis on evidence-based insights/practices, experiential learning and external engagement. We are also seeking an individual who is comfortable working at the fuzzy front end of the innovation process, partnering across academic colleges and disciplines and spanning the boundaries between the University and the broader community.

The University of Delaware combines a rich legacy of innovation with a commitment to undergraduate and graduate education and the creation of new knowledge. The main campus in Newark, Delaware, provides the amenities of a vibrant college town with convenient access to major east coast cities. The Department of Business Administration (BUAD) is part of the Alfred Lerner College of Business & Economics. The department offers degree programs in Marketing, Management, International Business and Operations Management. The department's faculty were instrumental in incubating Horn Entrepreneurship, which has emerged as the University's creative engine for entrepreneurship education and advancement. Horn Entrepreneurship actively partners with all of the University's Colleges and offers a broad array of academic, enrichment, venture support, technology commercialization and specialty (e.g., youth, women's and equity-focused) programming - www.udel.edu/horn.

As a continuing track faculty member, the candidate will have the opportunity to gain promotion, take sabbatical leave and enjoy the security of a multi-year appointment. Qualified candidates should be interested in establishing a long-term career at the University of Delaware. The anticipated start date for the position is flexible, with January 1 and August 16, 2023 start dates available. Applications will be reviewed beginning October 31st and accepted until the positions are filled.
