The Department of Clinical Studies-New Bolton Center at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a faculty position in Large Animal Diagnostic Imaging. If you are looking for an opportunity to be immersed in a passionate academic environment and want to shape the future of large animal imaging, this is the position for you! The successful applicant will join our collaborative team of clinicians dedicated to the pursuit of excellence. New Bolton Center is located southwest of Philadelphia in picturesque horse country with easy access to cultural and social activities in the MidAtlantic region. The faculty position will be available at the Assistant Professor level in the Academic Clinician (AC) Track.

The successful applicant will join our core Imaging Faculty which includes 2 dual-boarded ACVR and ACVR-EDI faculty members. This highly valued imaging team provides integral central services for New Bolton Center's diverse clinical and research caseload. Participation in the ultrasound service is also available for interested candidates, but is not required. The successful candidate will enthusiastically participate in clinical imaging service activities, and in clinical, laboratory and didactic teaching. There is ample opportunity to pursue scholarly activity in a clinical setting but conducting research is not a requirement of the position. New Bolton Center's diagnostic imaging modalities include a high-resolution self-shielded MRI unit (O-Scan), portable 16-slice fan beam CT (OmniTom®), standing cone beam computed tomography (Equimagine®), dedicated nuclear scintigraphy building with an upgraded gamma camera and Oasis motion correction software, standing positron emission tomography (Longmile)®, large animal radiology suite with 2 wireless digital radiography systems (Canon®), 6 viewing workstations, and extensive ultrasonographic equipment (2 Toshiba Aplio®, GE VividIQ®). In addition to current modalities, there is impending installation of a 3T MRI unit. Robust imaging caseload includes over 2500 radiographic, 1000 ultrasonographic, 600 CT, 100 MRI studies per year. All imaging areas have dedicated personnel and technical support.



Qualifications
DVM/VMD or equivalent, Board Certification (or Board Eligible) in the American College of Veterinary Radiology (ACVR or ACVR EDI) or European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI). Candidates should have specific training in equine imaging either through a residency program (e.g. ACVR EDI) or commensurate professional experience. Excellent communication skills and the ability to flourish in a collaborative environment are strongly desired.
