Job Summary: The Adolescent Education Advisement Coordinator serves as a point person and representative for the SAS Adolescent Education majors with a strong role in facilitating coordination and collaboration across campus departments and offices. They work with the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) and Education and Human Development (EHD) Dean's offices, academic departments, the Professional Education Unit (PEU), and other campus partners to promote, support, and develop the Adolescent Education majors. The Advisement Coordinator provides current and prospective Adolescent Education majors and faculty advisors with advisement, administrative, and enrollment support, and they coordinate the recruitment and retention of majors. They accurately interpret transcripts, degree audits, academic program requirements, policies, and state education requirements to support student retention and persistence and creatively solve advisement issues. Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a US Department of Education or an internationally recognized accrediting organization.
  • Experience working in academic advisement or a related area.
  • Experience working collaboratively, especially across divisions or departments.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to liaise and coordinate across departments and schools and with students of varying needs and backgrounds.
  • Ability to identify, evaluate, and solve problems collaboratively.

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree.
  • Experience working with a management information system.
  • Experience and proficiency working with SCT Banner, Degree Works or another degree audit system.
    Work Schedule: M-F 8am-4pm
    Salary and Benefits: Minimum Salary is $50,148. May be benefits eligible; more information at Careers@Brockport. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
