The Coordinator of Community Standards and Student Advocacy supports institutional efforts and promotes a campus climate of civility, integrity, responsibility, and social justice by administering the Student Code of Conduct. The Coordinator serves as a hearing officer by adjudicating non-academic misconduct incidents, trains and evaluates a team of administrative hearing officers; convenes Student Conduct Committee, and co-chairs the Student Concerns Committee ( GSU CARE Team); serves as case manager for students in distress; and develops and implements campus programs promoting outreach and education focused on civility, respect and integrity. The Coordinator assists with assessment efforts in the Office of the Dean of Students and the Division of Student Affairs. Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in College Student Personnel, Counseling, Higher Education, Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs Administration, Conflict Resolution, or a related field.

Minimum of two (2) years full time professional experience in higher education focusing on student conduct, residence life, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Higher Education or Student Affairs Administration or a related field. Three (3) years full time professional experience in higher education focusing on student conduct, residence life, or a related field.

Understanding of student conduct processes and procedures, current student conduct issues and trends, Title IX requirements, higher education law, and student development theory.

Experience working with behavioral intervention or threat assessment teams and supporting/responding to students in distress or crisis.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students from underrepresented and under-served populations.

Experience working with faculty and staff in their roles as hearing officers.

Commitment to fostering student learning, social justice, restorative justice, and community values.

Independent judgment, critical management, and time management skills. Knowledge of student conduct database administration, i.e. Maxient.

Ability to solve problem and work effectively in a fast past environment.

Demonstrated ability to think strategically and to generate and manage work groups/projects. Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines to deal with competing demands.

Excellent organizational and communication skills for internal and external interactions.
