JOB DESCRIPTION

The Metropolitan Indianapolis Central Indiana Area Health Education Center (MICI-AHEC) at the University of Indianapolis is seeking applications for a Program Manager. The Program Manager will lead and provide assistance and support within the high school health vocational program in collaboration with the public school K-12 partner. The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the 3E grant. This position will be responsible for supporting work-based learning efforts, school-industry partnerships, health career pathways, and opportunities for students to pursue postsecondary education. Additionally, the Program Manager is responsible for managing the outcomes and capturing data associated with the Indiana Department of Education 3E grant.

This is a full-time, two (2) year grant-funded position.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create a program that will assist in the development of an effective career pipeline in Indiana Public Schools (IPS), which includes student recruitment within the MICI-AHEC service area
  • Develop, organize and implement activities proposed in the grant. The activities seek to solve the healthcare workforce shortage using: 1) career awareness and career exploration for elementary and middle school students in the IPS system; and 2) career preparation for high school students with MICI-AHEC
  • Work with MICI-AHEC partners to assist in developing exposure and skills needed for students to pursue health professions programs. Work with underserved and disadvantaged students to prepare health-related programs that meet their needs and advance their skill level
  • Manage key community relationships and correspondence throughout the course of the project fiscal year to ensure all grant objectives are met
  • Plan, organize, and facilitate school personnel, industry partners, and state partners
  • Manage and communicate with the team and be professional with both staff, partners and students. Provide assistance to partners and other staff as necessary
  • Serve as a professional representative of the MICI- AHEC at internal and external meetings as necessary, while keeping the Executive Director updated on a continuous basis as new developments and partnerships arise
  • Read, research and attend conference/meetings to further develop expertise in the field. Follow the guidance and direction of supervisor(s)
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Two years of relevant experience in facilitation of programs and program oversight
  • Valid driver's license and a clean or acceptable driving record according to University Policy required
  • Proficient in the utilization of computer technology and computer applications (Word, Excel, database programs) required
  • Effective verbal and written communication and planning and organization skills required
  • Experience in planning, budgeting and implementing programs and workshops for middle and high school students
  • Community health affairs, needs assessment, or community and corporate partner engagement is required
  • Flexibility in scheduling and long or irregular hours required
