Cazenovia College is currently accepting applications for the position of Vice President for Student Affairs (VPSA). Reporting to the President and a member of the President’s Senior Staff, the VPSA serves as the College's chief student affairs officer by providing vision and leadership for all aspects of residence life; health & counseling; judicial affairs; student activities; student leadership development; the Mosaic multi-cultural center; campus safety; and dining, conferencing, and catering. The VPSA also administers the strategic direction, planning, and assessment of the Student Affairs Division.
Cazenovia College is an independent co-educational college offering bachelor degree programs in the liberal arts and professional studies in an exceptional community environment, with academic and co-curricular programs devoted to developing leaders in their fields. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide vision, leadership, strategic direction and overall administration for the Student Affairs Division.
- Collaborate with other divisions within the College to develop programs and initiatives that support the retention, development and graduation of all Cazenovia College students.
- Serve as the appeal officer for judicial cases and standing member of the Title IX conduct committee.
- Ensure accountability and proper use of funds and administration of the budgets for all departments within the division.
- Create relationships with students, faculty, alumni, and trustees with a focus on promoting an inclusive and meaningful experience for all students.
- Serve as an advocate for students among the campus community and for the Student Affairs Division both within and outside of the College.
- Represent the Student Affairs Division on various campus-wide committees (Emergency Response Team, Board of Trustees, etc.).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration, operational improvements and the implementation of student affairs best practices.
- Proven success in working with students, parents, administrators and faculty. Commitment to teamwork, transparency, accessibility and accountability.
- Ability and willingness to partner with other institutional leaders to ensure a successful student experience.
- Knowledge of current issues and trends in higher education and participation in national professional associations. Experience with Title IX and familiarity with NYS “Enough is Enough” legislation.
Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s degree in higher education or a related field (doctorate preferred)
- Significant experience in student affairs related matters in a college environment
