Job Details

Emporia State University is seeking applications for the position of Associate Dean of The Teachers College (TTC).  The Teachers College seeks a dynamic, innovative and collaborative individual who possesses exceptional organizational and communication skills.  The position requires rank as an associate or full professor and an earned doctorate in a program area offered within a department in TTC at the time of appointment (https://www.emporia.edu/teachers-college/). Previous administrative experience at the level of department chair or higher, or equivalent, is required. Additionally, preference is given to candidates with previous experience as a Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) site visitor or as a program coordinator. Duties of the Associate Dean include the following:

 

  1. Coordinate preparation of folios for Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) reviews. Serve as the college’s data/assessment coordinator, including the operation of the college’s Accountability Management System. Serve as the University’s CAEP Coordinator, overseeing preparation of all self-study documents and for the CAEP-KSDE accreditation site visit. Prepare and submit required reports to CAEP, the Kansas State Board of Education, and the Kansas Board of Regents. Monitor requirements of Title II and prepare and submit the required information. Oversee activities associated with the Office of Field Placement and Licensure including teacher education admissions, exit criteria, certification, and concerns with student teachers. Oversee the collection and scoring of the Teaching & Learning Portfolio for student teachers. Serve as Executive Secretary of the Council on Teacher Education and the Committee on Advanced Programs. Serve as TTC Dean’s appointment to the University’s General Education Council. Monitor curricular changes within the university and The Teachers College. Assist in monitoring budget expenditures and equipment requests and supervision of staff for the University Copy Center. Supervise the administration and reporting of the IDEA faculty course evaluations. Maintain a safe and clean environment in Visser Hall.  Serve as the Building Manager in Visser Hall and assist with other facilities of The Teachers College. Oversee TTC digital signage. Monitor room assignments for fall, spring, and summer semester courses. Develop and monitor the faculty development and mentoring program for TTC. Attend and participate in the KSDE Unit Head and Certification Meetings. Serve as the Introduction to Teaching Coordinator for elementary and secondary education. Other duties as assigned by the Dean.
