Virginia Wesleyan University invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biology position specializing in microbiology to begin in August 2023. Candidates should have an earned Ph.D. by the start of employment and post-doctoral and/or university level teaching experience is preferred. The successful candidate will have excellent teaching skills fostering student learning from diverse backgrounds and will be expected to teach our 200-level Microbiology for Health Sciences (with lab), 400-level Microbiology (with lab), and 200-level Genetics (with lab) annually. There may be opportunities to develop an additional course. The candidate will also demonstrate a tenable research plan that includes participation and training of undergraduates.
