Job Description:

We are looking for a highly motivated postdoc fellow. The research in my lab is focused on the gut microbiota-mediated blood pressure regulation and antihypertensive medication efficacy. This is an exciting new field with great potential for the resistant hypertensives. We employed a variety of techniques to test interdisciplinary hypotheses. Some highlights include: bioinformatic analysis of gut microbiota, survival surgery for rodent blood pressure measurement, flow cytometry, HPLC-MS, anaerobic culture of bacteria, epigenetic modification, DNA/RNA extraction, real time PCR, western blotting, ELISA, etc. Knowledge in physiology, immunology and molecular biology are helpful.

Minimum Qualifications:

(1) Ph.D. degree in biological/medical sciences (e.g., physiology, microbiology, immunology)

(2) experiences in rodent handling (e.g., genotyping)

(3) basic molecular works (e.g., DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, western blotting).

Preferred Qualifications:

(1) next-generation sequencing and data analysis (e.g., RNA-seq, microbiota analysis)

(2) Radio telemeter implants for blood pressure recording

(3) fluorescence microscopy, confocal

(4) HPLC-MS

(5) Bacterial culture.
