Public Service Faculty - Community Engagement Program Manager


Position Summary

The Archway Partnership at the University of Georgia is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as the statewide Community Engagement Program Manager. The position carries rank in the public service faculty career ladder of The University of Georgia and reports to the Archway Partnership Director. As the Community Engagement Program Manager, this individual will assist the Connected Resilient Communities ( CRC ) tap into the resources and expertise at the University of Georgia to address local challenges and become more attractive to economic development. The Community Engagement Program Manager is key to ensuring that the Archway Partnership process of community engagement and outreach provides rewarding experiences for local stakeholders, student experiential learning and faculty scholarship. While the delivery of higher education resources is the primary vehicle of service, our model also includes resources from state agencies, regional partnerships, non-profit organizations, business and industry and others.
This is a statewide position and requires the ability and willingness to travel to locations across Georgia during the day, in the evening, and on weekends as needed, and may include mobile work.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification

1. Three to five years experience working in community development, economic development, public administration, planning, non-profit, community organizing, leadership development, regional planning, or related field.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

1. Excellent data analytics and computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office, and survey tools such as Qualtrics, Google Forms, and Survey Monkey
2. Background with group facilitation, strong organizational skills, excellent writing skills, history interacting with diverse backgrounds, and project management skills

Duties/Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities

1. Serve as the primary point of contact for the CRC program.
2. Seek cross-campus partnerships and opportunities in collaboration with University of Georgia Schools, Colleges, and Public Service & Outreach ( PSO ) units, in addition to networking with key state agencies, regional partnerships, non-profit agencies, professional trade organizations, and corporate partners with a mission to cultivate and strengthen these relationships
3. Research, develop, and facilitate CRC program material and content and will communicate plans, activities, and achievements to the Archway Partnership Director, unit faculty and staff, agencies, partners, and other relevant stakeholders
4. Pursue funding and grant opportunities to ensure programmatic growth and sustainability and develop long-term and short-term goals, in addition to learning objectives and recommendations for improvement for the CRC program
5. Manage and assist alongside the Business Manager in the development of the operating budget. This will also include the management of funding through gifts, contracts, grants, in-kind, or other appropriate resources
6. Oversee the recruitment, selection, training, evaluation, and management of graduate assistants and student employees
7. Demonstrate partnership, collaboration, and community engagement best practices and principles
8. Coordinate student experiential learning and faculty research during community programs or projects
9. Document activities and program impact through a variety of evaluation mechanisms
10. Position local partnerships, programs, and projects for marketing and promotional media opportunities
