Job Description
The Department of Mathematics at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach campus, invites applications for a non-tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Mathematics, starting Fall 2023.
The Department of Mathematics provides the mathematical foundation for Embry-Riddle’s various degree programs. In addition, the Department also offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Computational Mathematics and minors in Applied Mathematics and Computational Mathematics. In Fall 2019, the Department started offering an interdisciplinary Masters in Data Science (MSDS) with multiple tracks that integrate the strengths of the other degree programs within ERAU. The hallmark of the degree programs, in the Department of Mathematics, is the industrial connection of the curricula that aims to prepare students for a rewarding industrial career. Thus, we are seeking a candidate who can not only teach our core undergraduate mathematics classes (e.g., Calculus & Differential Equations) with quality academic rigor but can also demonstrate applications of mathematics to real world problems.
Qualifications
Excellence in teaching is our top priority and one of our department’s primary goals is to contribute to the success of our students and the growth of our student population through quality education. All non-tenure-track faculty members in the Department of Mathematics are expected to primarily focus their workload into teaching (generally 4 courses per term), but some additional service-related workload will be expected with time. The candidate is not required to hold a Ph.D., but it is required to have a Master’s Degree in Mathematics, or a related field (by the time of appointment) with some teaching experience. Candidates with degrees not in Mathematics can be considered if and only if they have at least 18 credit hours of graduate work in Mathematics.
Candidates must submit the following for consideration:
