Gettysburg College seeks a creative and collaborative professional to oversee its Family Relations Program.  The Director will lead programs, communications, and events for parents and families that inform, engage, and support strategic College priorities.  Through critical partnerships both within the College Advancement Division and with colleagues in divisions across campus this position ensures the relationship between Gettysburg College and our parent and family constituencies is positive, enduring, and inclusive.

 

Several high-level responsibilities include oversight of Family Weekend, First Year Welcome Gatherings Program, Multi-Generational Gettysburgians Program, International Family Engagement Program, and the coordination of family communications. The Director also acts as the primary point of contact for the Parents Leadership Council and oversees meaningful stewardship of this leadership giving society. This position comes at an exciting time for the College, as it has entered into the foundational year of an ambitious comprehensive campaign. The Director serves as a part of the College Advancement leadership team, and will play a significant role in helping to meet and exceed engagement goals that will be set forth as an important measure of the campaign’s success.

 

A bachelor’s degree is required. This position requires weekend and evening work and travels as necessary to implement off campus events and programs. A minimum of 3-5 years of related experience at a higher education institution is strongly preferred as is a considerable knowledge of parent and family relations, development, and volunteer management. Proven record of program and event planning and execution preferred.

This position demands flexibility, a positive attitude, and the ability to work with a variety of individuals. Must be able to travel and work outside of traditional business hours.
