Department of Software Engineering and Game Development

 

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, non-tenure track Lecturer of Software Engineering faculty position in the Department of Software Engineering and Game Development beginning January 2023.  

 

The primary responsibilities for the position include teaching and service work with an emphasis on enhancing the teaching mission of the department.

 

The appointment is for nine months and includes the possibility of teaching in summer.  The teaching duties will primarily include teaching three first-year courses per semester with approximately 120 students per course. Courses are taught on both the Marietta campus and Kennesaw campus of Kennesaw State University and are offered during daytime and evening hours. Faculty are expected to teach in a variety of instructional modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online.

 

Other responsibilities include:

  • Participating in course and program development activities
  • Working collegially with colleagues
  • Student Advising
  • Working with a diverse community

 

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

 

Required Qualifications Include

  • An earned master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a discipline related to Computing or a closely related field.

OR

  • An earned master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline.

 

Preferred Qualifications Include

  • Experience in teaching online or hybrid courses
  • Experience working with diverse communities
