Job Summary:

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine seeks applications for BC/BE cardiologists specializing in echocardiography and nuclear imaging to join a dynamic academic program, with opportunities to create a unique clinical practice and engage in teaching and clinical research at a world-class university.

UW Madison offers outstanding clinical facilities and laboratories offering a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including coronary and peripheral vascular interventions, a full complement of structural heart disease procedures (ASD/PFO closure, mitral repair, TAVR), as well as both pre-clinical and clinical investigational device research. The position will entail a presence at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics locations in Madison and at our partner community-based hospital, Unity Point Health - Meriter.

Responsibilities:

-For appointments hired as Clinical Assistant, Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor: Position responsibilities for patient care at UW Health locations, includes inpatient cardiovascular medicine service and night call; outpatient cardiovascular service including echo, nuclear medicine, and stress testing; and coverage at regional sites based on the needs of the division. Responsibilities will also include providing clinical teaching of medical students, residents and fellows.

-For appointments hired as Assistant Professor (CHS), Associate Professor (CHS) or Professor (CHS): Position responsibilities for patient care at UW Health locations, includes inpatient cardiovascular medicine service and night call; outpatient cardiovascular service including echo, nuclear medicine, and stress testing; and coverage at regional sites based on the needs of the division. Responsibilities will also include providing clinical teaching of medical students, residents and fellows.Time is expected to be spent on clinical research activities and academic service.

Cardiovascular Medicine provides faculty with ample opportunities for medical education and scholarship.

Qualifications:

Fellows are encouraged to apply. Additionally, the candidate will be BC/BE in internal medicine and cardiology; have training in nuclear cardiology and echocardiography, a strong clinical background with demonstrated excellence in patient care and teaching, and a commitment to scholarly achievement.

License/Certification:

Required

Eligible for Wisconsin Medical License
