Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow (PDF) in the Department of Anaesthesiology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 516591), to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in Biological/Medical Sciences or a related discipline with at least 1 year’s related work experience. They should be self-motivated, responsible, able to work independently and in a team, fluent in written and spoken English, and competent in basic computer database management and in basic laboratory techniques such as Western Blot, PCR, cell culture and small animal handling. Familiarity or experience with gene sequencing or gene manipulation would be an advantage but is not a pre-requisite. Applicants with related track records of publishing academic research papers are preferred. Those without relevant experience may be considered for the post of Research Assistant I.

The appointee will be involved in laboratory research work in the area of neuroscience and pain pathophysiology.
